How TechBargains makes money
TechBargains is a reader-supported site. We participate in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.
What this means in practice:
- Product links on this site (for example, the "Check price on Amazon" buttons in our roundups) are affiliate links containing our Associates tag (
scholarshipzo-20). - If you click one of these links and make a qualifying purchase on Amazon, we may earn a commission — typically a small percentage of the sale.
- It costs you nothing extra. You pay the same price Amazon shows everyone; the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your wallet.
Our editorial independence
Commissions keep the lights on, but they don't buy rankings. Our commitments:
- Picks are never for sale. No brand can pay for placement, a better ranking, or a positive review on TechBargains.
- Rankings reflect our honest assessment of value, quality, and suitability — based on specifications, professional reviews, and long-term owner feedback.
- We recommend what we'd buy ourselves at each price point, including products with lower commissions when they deserve to win.
- If a product we recommended is later found to have serious issues, we update or remove the recommendation.
What we link to
We link to specific product listings (by ASIN) that we believe represent the best value at the time of writing. Listings, sellers, and prices on Amazon change frequently:
- We never state specific prices as fact — we use phrasing like "usually under $X" precisely because prices move.
- If a linked listing becomes unavailable or the product changes substantially, the recommendation may no longer apply — check the listing details before buying.
- We are not responsible for Amazon orders, shipping, returns, or warranties. For order issues, contact Amazon or the seller directly.
FTC compliance
In accordance with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, we disclose our affiliate relationships clearly: every page containing affiliate links carries a disclosure notice near the top of the content, and affiliate links use rel="sponsored" so search engines understand the relationship.
